Eye Candy

Gianna got her glasses this week!  Yes, I know they look like they came out of the dollar bin at Target, but I promise they're prescription!  We were able to get into the pediatric opthalmologist a couple of months earlier than expected.  G is a little far sighted (pretty common in infants) and both eyes are crossed, although the right eye is worse.  So we put a patch over the left eye for 2 hours a day to strengthen the right eye.  Apparently if infants have an eye that's weak, their brain will eventually "forget" about using that eye and they can lose sight in it completely.  The glasses should help strengthen her eyes also, and then she will likely have an eye surgery this fall to correct the rest of the crossing that the glasses and patching don't take care of.

I'm trying to think of the best caption for this picture.... Ideas so far:
"Hmmm, what should I read first?"
"Oh!  THAT'S what my family looks like?!?"
"Shhh - don't tell Mommy I'm about to take these glasses off!" (which she did after about 15 seconds)
Other ideas??

Daddy's Girl

Daddy's Little Princess

Gianna was lucky to be able to spend the weekend both with her Daddy as well both of her grandfathers and her cousins.  This Daddy's Girl spent the weekend being cuddled, kissed and passed around.  Mother's Day and Father's Day have taken on an even more special meaning to us as our family has grown, and as Gianna has taught us to celebrate every day we are blessed to be parents.  Matt has my deepest love and admiration for the role he plays in our children's lives.  GiGi's starting to babble a little and her first sounds are "Da Da Da!".....hearing this was the perfect Father's Day gift for Matt.
